LDV T60 Luxe 2020 Review

The 2020 LDV T60 Luxe is a Chinese-built dual-cab ute that offers an attractive price point, undercutting most of its major rivals. With deals available as low as $32,000, the LDV T60 Luxe is an excellent option for those looking for a versatile and affordable ute.

The T60 Luxe doesn’t skimp on equipment, featuring heated seats, a 10-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and electric everything. The interior is well-constructed, with excellent storage, consistent panel gaps, and a spacious rear seat that offers ample legroom and headroom. Rear air vents and Isofix child seat attachments are also available, making it family-friendly.

While the T60’s 2.8-liter turbo diesel engine lacks the power of some mainstream rivals, it is equipped with a smart 6-speed gearbox that efficiently shifts gears. However, when towing a 1.8-ton load, the engine’s limitations become more apparent, requiring more revs to maintain momentum and increasing fuel consumption.

On loose surfaces, the LDV T60 Luxe performs surprisingly well, handling bumps and corrugations with ease. It also fares well on moderate four-wheel-drive courses, proving that value is not its only strong suit. With a five-year warranty and decent after-sales prospects, the T60 Luxe is an attractive option for those looking for a budget-friendly ute.

However, the value equation for mainstream rivals remains strong, making it a tough decision for potential buyers. While the LDV T60 Luxe may not yet be the top choice for everyone, it’s an increasingly appealing option in the ute market.
