The 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQE 350 is a game-changer in the luxury EV segment, offering a perfect blend of elegance, performance, and eco-friendliness. With its sleek design and impressive features, the EQE 350 is set to rival the Porsche Taycan, BMW i4, and Genesis G80 Electrified.
Available in three variants, the EQE 300, EQE 350, and the high-performance EQE 53 AMG, the EQE 350 is expected to be the volume seller. Priced at around $155,000 plus on-road costs, it boasts a 90 kWh battery pack and an all-wheel-drive system with electric motors on both the front and rear axles. The EQE 350 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.3 seconds, and its maximum range reaches an impressive 462 km under WLTP regulations.
The EQE’s design is not only visually striking but also highly functional. Its unique shape results in a low drag coefficient of 0.22, allowing it to glide effortlessly through the air. In addition, the body shell is made from 100% recycled steel, enhancing its eco-friendly credentials.
Inside, the EQE 350 is loaded with standard features, including a head-up display, panoramic sunroof, Burmester stereo, and heated sports seats. The cabin is spacious, with ample legroom in the back, thanks to the extended wheelbase. However, taller passengers may find headroom limited due to the coupe roofline and panoramic sunroof.
Driving the EQE 350 is a luxurious experience, with smooth power delivery, responsive steering, and a comfortable ride. Although the standard suspension can feel a bit heavy over lumps and bumps, the optional adaptive air suspension is worth considering for an even more refined experience.
Despite some minor drawbacks, such as limited rear visibility and soft-feeling brakes, the 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQE 350 is an excellent choice for those looking to make the switch to an electric luxury vehicle.
