The Nissan GT-R T-Spec is the last of the R35 bloodline to grace Australian shores. With less than 30 models arriving in 2022, this powerful and rare machine boasts several upgrades that make it stand out from the crowd. Priced at $256,700, the T-Spec is a significant step up from the base model, but it offers features that justify the price increase.
The most striking visual change is the gold forged 20-inch alloy wheels, which are wrapped in Dunlop SP Sport Maxx high-performance tyres. The T-Spec also features carbon ceramic brake rotors, which have been borrowed from the Nismo models. These colossal brakes measure 410 mm upfront and 390 mm at the rear, providing more stopping power and reliability at the limit.
Under the hood, the T-Spec runs the same hand-built engine as the regular GT-R, producing over 400 kW or 550 HP. The power is sent through a six-speed dual-clutch transmission to all four wheels, with a rear transaxle featuring a dedicated launch control system for astonishing 0-100 km/h sprints.
Inside, the T-Spec offers a premium feel with quilted stitching on the Alcantara headlining, suede upholstery on the A-pillars and dashboard, and dark green upholstery on the seats, steering wheel, gear shifter and dashboard. While the cabin layout is user-friendly, the 8-inch screen and controls may feel a bit dated.
Despite its age, the T-Spec GT-R remains a brutally potent vehicle, providing a visceral driving experience without feeling intimidating. The car’s all-wheel drive system and powerful engine make it a force to be reckoned with on the track. With the R36 GT-R on the horizon, we can’t wait to see what Nissan has in store for the future.
